This policy covers blog.infostruction.com. It describes what the site collects, why, and who else sees it. It is written from what the site actually runs rather than from a template, so it should stay accurate as long as the plugin set does not change.
What you give the site directly
Comments. Leaving a comment stores the name, email address, website and comment text you enter. WordPress additionally records the IP address you commented from and your browser’s user agent string, which it uses for spam detection. Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that replies and threads remain readable.
Avatars. If you comment, a hashed version of your email address is sent to the Gravatar service, operated by Automattic, so that an avatar can be displayed. Gravatar’s own privacy policy applies to that request.
The contact form. Messages sent through the contact form are stored in the site database and forwarded by email. They are kept until there is no longer a reason to keep them.
What the site records automatically
Visit counts. The site runs a visitor counter that records the IP address of each visit along with the date. This is the counter whose totals appear in the footer.
Security logging. Two security plugins, WP Cerber and MalCare, record IP addresses, failed and successful login attempts, and session information including the country an administrative session originates from. This is used to block automated attacks on the site’s login.
Broken link logging. The redirection plugin records requests that return a 404, including the URL requested, the referring page, the browser user agent and the IP address. This is used to find and fix broken links.
Third parties the page talks to
Google Tag Manager. The site loads Google Tag Manager (container GTM-MB8C7X4R), which can in turn load Google Analytics and similar measurement tools. Where it does, Google receives information about your visit and may set its own cookies. Google’s privacy policy governs that processing.
Translation. The site offers machine translation through GTranslate. If you select a language, page text is sent to Google’s translation service to be translated.
Content delivery. Images, stylesheets and scripts are served through BunnyCDN, which logs requests in order to deliver them. Hosting is provided by InstaWP.
No data collected here is sold, and the site carries no advertising network.
Your choices
You can read the site without commenting, without using the contact form and without selecting a translation. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, which is covered in the Cookie Policy.
If you want to know what the site holds about you, or want a comment or contact message deleted, get in touch through the contact form and say what you are asking for. Requests are handled manually.
Changes
If the site adds or removes something that changes what is collected, this page is updated and the date above changes with it.
